Drawing and drafting.
Entrance exams for applicants to the specialty Design, restoration, reconstruction of civil buildings, Interior design: Drawing and Painting.
According to the exam Drawing: the object of drawing is a composition of geometric shapes.
For the drafting exam: using the given two projections of the part, construct a third projection and axonometry.
According to the Painting exam: the object of painting in color is a still life of everyday objects.
Drawing
The object of drawing is a composition of geometric shapes.
Duration – 3 hours.
*The drawing is done on A3 format using lines and strokes in compliance with the rules and methods of drawing.
The work is performed using the technique of tonal, perspective drawing.
The drawing of a composition of geometric shapes must meet the following requirements: correctly chosen scale of the drawing in relation to the plane of the entire face;
correct layout of the drawing on the sheet, i.e. placement of the drawing within the boundaries of the format should be calm, balanced, compositionally integral;
correct depiction of linear-perspective images of geometric figures; shading of light and shadow (to reveal the volume of the object’s body).
Drafting
The duration of the exam is 3 hours.
The applicant must have:
pencils of hardness 2-N, 3-N, NI, I, the following drawing tools: ruler, squares with angles of 30, 60 and 45 degrees, eraser, compass, meter.
Requirements for the exam subject and assessment criteria:
choose the right projection scale for the format;
correctly arrange projections on the projection planes of the sheet;
based on the given two projections of the part, construct a third one, imagine its shape as a whole and construct an axonometry;
choose the right thickness and type of drawing lines – main line, secondary, measured.
Painting
The duration of the exam is 3 hours.
The applicant must have:
– Watercolor paint “SANET”;
– Pencils koh-i-noor
– Squirrel brushes 3,5,8,10;
– Sharpener, eraser.
– Palette.
Requirements for the exam subject and assessment criteria:
correctly chosen scale of the drawing in relation to the plane of the entire face;
correct layout of the drawing on the sheet, i.e. placement of the drawing within the boundaries of the format should be calm, balanced, compositionally integral;
convey the character and shape of objects;
correct execution of a simple painting from nature sketch consisting of 2-3 objects to convey color relationships and expressive color-tone solutions
